The staff seemed happy to answer my questions. I was shown to my room quickly. It was comfortable and cozy for one night. The location is good. It is only a short walk to the town centre.
The hot water in the tap was very hot. Both taps dripped if not turned off hard! A handful of tea bags were available. I usually prefer sachet tea bags.

the room was a decent size and super clean. the bed was very comfy. it included all the needed facilities. the pub downstairs was nice and homely (i especially liked the atmosphere). it offered good food and drinks at reasonable prices. the staff were nice, especially the landlord. a short walk takes you to the town, which makes for good exercise.
the noise from the cellar cooling was slightly intrusive. it didn't keep me awake, but quieter surroundings would have been welcome.

the pub downstairs serves tasty food at reasonable prices (the southern fried chicken burgers are amazing!). the portions were generous. the chicken gravy was fabulous. there was also a good selection of drinks available.

the location is convenient, within walking distance of the town center. free parking is available (very useful!). access for dogs is good. the outside area is nice for having drinks in the sun.

I visit yearly with my daughter, now a teenager. We found free parking convenient. The room was spacious and clean. Staff members were polite and helpful. The traditional bar offered a wide choice of drinks (especially good beer!).
During check-in, i was informed about a scheduled country and western night, but a consistent, low-level hum persisted all night, disrupting sleep.

The inn offers an excellent location, very near the beginning of several walking routes. This spot provides simple access, though it is a bit away from the heart of the city. Parking is free for residents.
